The Zhongshan Shaxi basketball team returned home in triumph on August 10 from Yunfu after winning the Guangdong division champion at the 2026 national Village Basketball Association (Village BA or CunBA).

Around 4:30 pm, the motorcade arrived at the Shaxi town government compound. Close behind was a Simmental bull, awarded to the team as a prize.

As the bus doors opened, the players stepped out and were presented with flowers. "Zhongshan people have backed us all along, and that is our biggest motivation," said head coach Feng Hanyuan.

In the coming September, the team will head to Nanning, Guangxi, to compete in the CunBA southern regional tournament, facing strong teams from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi and beyond. The top 5 finishers will secure a spot in the national finals.
