After missing out on the 100m backstroke championship, she kissed the lane's edge to bid farewell to what was likely her final National Games, shedding tears on the awards podium.
"There may be regrets, but I gave it my all. Wang Xue'er, you are the best!" For two decades, this veteran athlete has dedicated her youth to the pool. Day after day, in training and in competition, it was her love for the sport that drove her to push her limits, time and again.
