From January to October this year, Zhongshan saw over 610,000 personal digital RMB wallets opened, with cumulative transactions surpassing 7.2 million and totaling nearly 1.18 billion yuan. The payment network now covers 73,300 merchant outlets across key urban and rural areas.
During this period, 6 corporate operating loans (totaling 10.81 million yuan) and 40 personal consumer loans (5.45 million yuan) were issued. The digital currency bridge facilitated 14 cross-boundary transactions worth 15.93 million yuan and 843,700 Hong Kong dollars.
The digital yuan is applied in public services. Five public security sub-bureaus allow digital non-tax payments for bail and deposits, and five foreign-invested firms paid corporate taxes via NRA accounts using digital RMB.
The digital Yuan is also accelerating integration into schools, hospitals, pharmacies and other daily scenarios. Forty-three medical institutions including Torch Development Zone People's Hospital and Yifangshun TCM Clinic, for example, have accepted digital RMB payments.
