The 15th National Games, along with the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, will soon take place, with Zhongshan serving as one of the key host cities.
After nearly two years of high-standard construction and renovation, six competition venues — Xingzhong Stadium, Zhongshan Gymnasium, Zhongshan International Baseball and Softball Center, Shaxi Gymnasium, Gymnasium of Torch High-Tech Zone No.1 Middle School, and Hall 2 of Zhongshan Torch International Exhibition Center — have all been completed and put into use as scheduled. They have also passed inspection through a series of test competitions.
As an iconic landmark of Zhongshan, Xingzhong Stadium has been revitalized through a comprehensive renovation that preserves its historical charm while integrating cutting-edge technology and humanistic design elements. The stadium, now featuring 12,000 seats, is designated to host the athletics competitions of the National Games for Persons with Disabilities and Special Olympics.
Comprising the Pandas Heritage Stadium and two newly-built sports fields, the Zhongshan International Baseball and Softball Center stands as a new facility in the Zhongshan competition zone, designated to host the baseball and softball competitions of the 15th National Games.
