The 17th Zhongshan Book Fair, part of the Southern China Book Fair 2025, opened at the Zhongshan Expo Center on August 15 and will run through August 19.
Spanning approximately 3,000 square meters, the main venue integrates five exhibition zones and five experience zones. Highlights include thematic publication displays, author talks, and a Kids' Reading Corner for families. To engage young people, a book-and-coffee market is set up to create trendy social spaces.
A signature sub-venue at Xiangshan Academy will host programs under the theme "Tradition Meets Modernity," while a digital "Zhongshan Plus Cloud Book Fair" platform breaks geographical boundaries. Sub-venues in towns/subdistricts such as Guzhen (Lighting Culture Reading Space) and Xiaolan (Chrysanthemum Culture Book Fair) bring cultural activities closer to residents.
Beyond 10 major publishers in Guangdong, the fair debuts partnerships with Peking University Press, Grand Unity publishing and media and the Hall de Cultura (Macao), fostering a novel cultural exchange platform within the Greater Bay Area. Renowned cultural figures like Kang Zhen and Ma Boyong will host lectures and sharing sessions. A new nighttime program titled "Wonderful Reading Nights" will debut, in addition to a lychee-themed cultural show.
