Zhongshan is one of the cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with the most complete industrial chains and the most convenient supply networks. 

Among the 41 major industrial categories within the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Cooperation and Innovation Zone, 34 can be found in Zhongshan, making the city a national innovation base for characteristic industrial clusters, equipped with a world-class industrial ecosystem and strong connections to global markets.

It aims to build a modern industrial cluster led by four core industries (new energy, biomedicine and health, next-generation information technology and smart home appliances), which will be connected with high-end equipment manufacturing, optoelectronics and optics, lighting and decoration, modern agriculture and food, modern fashion and others. Also, it is exploring emerging industrial tracks such as the low-altitude economy.
