At a recent mobilization meeting, Guangdong Provincial Railway Construction Investment Group announced that the Zhuhai-Zhaoqing and Shenzhen-Nanning high-speed railways (HSRs) are set to be ready for operation by the end of September 2027, with a deadline of the end of December 2027.

The Shenzhen-Nanning HSR is a vital corridor linking the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with Guangxi and the broader Southwest China region. Spanning about 661 km from Guangdong's Shenzhen to Guangxi's Nanning, it has a design speed of 350 km/h.

The line will have 18 stations, including 2 (Zhongshan West and Zhongshan North) in Zhongshan. Upon its opening, travel will become significantly more convenient for Zhongshan residents.
