The newly opened west zone has a floor area of 10,600 square meters after renovation, and offers 353 parking spots and 38 NEV charging points.

Designed by the team of He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the complex incorporates Lingnan architectural elements such as wok‑ear house, with a waterside corridors linking the shops.

The west zone has introduced the first cdf duty‑free outlet at an expressway service area nationwide, allowing travelers to enjoy the same products and prices as Hainan's duty‑free stores while on the road. It has also launched the first Guangdong Museum store at a service area, turning Maritime Silk Road relics and Lingnan intangible cultural heritage (ICH) into takeaway creative products. Together with a lineup of 11 other stores making their national or provincial debuts, these form an immersive consumption ecosystem combining premium goods, ICH, guochao (China‑chic) items and trendy toys.

Notably, drivers can navigate to "中山服务区办公室" (Zhongshan Service Area Office), park in the public parking beside Langwang Avenue, and reach the service area via a pedestrian overpass — all without having to enter the expressway.

Construction of the east zone is scheduled to begin in November this year, with completion expected in 2027.
