"It is quiet and comfortable living here," said Dr Zhang Huibin, an expert in weighing technology and one of the first residents of Zhongshan's talent apartments. "The city's government has truly demonstrated its commitment to attracting and retaining talents."
So far, Zhongshan has launched over 500 municipal-level talent apartments across such areas as East District, Shiqi and West District, catering to diverse housing needs of different types of talents. Eligible occupants may receive up to 100% rent subsidies.
Zhongshan's talent housing primarily serves high-caliber professionals including candidates for major national, provincial and municipal talent programs, Hong Kong and Macao youth pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship in the city, technology talents from premier R&D institutions/platforms, core members of provincial/municipal innovation and entrepreneurship teams, senior managers of key enterprises or investment projects, skilled talents with senior technician certifications or above, and Guangdong "You Yue Card" holders.
Other eligible applicants encompass talents from Hong Kong, Macao and other Greater Bay Area cities, graduates with junior college degrees or higher from Zhongshan and Shenzhen, vocational qualification holders, and key employees of enterprises.
