2026 Southern China Book Fair Zhongshan session to open
2026-08-25

The Zhongshan session of the 2026 Southern China Book Fair will run from August 27 to 31.

The main venue, which is at the Zhongshan Expo Center, features about 3,000 square meters of book exhibition and sales space, gathering 26 quality publishers from Guangdong and beyond, as well as cultural institutions from Hong Kong and Macao. Local specialty bookstores will also join in, offering a one-stop selection across all categories to cater to readers of all ages and interests.

A network of sub-venues extends into towns and subdistricts, business areas, residential communities and major transport routes. Highlights also include the Xiangshan Study at Jinzhonghu Lake, the mobile library along the riverbank in Torch Hi-Tech Zone, and the canal-side reading garden in Sanxiang. Reading-themed bus routes and micro reading corners along the BRT lines bring the reading experience to commuters on the go.

This year's event brings together renowned figures in literature and history, traditional Chinese culture, traditional Chinese medicine, art and literature, aesthetic and science educations, and local culture studies, offering a series of themed dialogues, cultural salons and public lectures. Among them, veteran news commentator and host Bai Yansong will revisit Zhongshan for a sharing session.

The organizing committee will issue 200,000 yuan worth of electronic book vouchers, which residents can claim via the Zhongshan Plus app. Those who reserve seats for lectures can also unlock exclusive deals from nearly 100 hotels, restaurants, retail stores and tourist attractions across the city.
