To mark the 45th Guangdong Bird-Loving Week, on March 24, Zhongshan conducted a wild bird release in the Tianxin area of Xiangshan Nature Reserve. Over 70 nationally protected birds, professionally rehabilitated and certified for wild survival, were set free.

The released species included national Class II protected animals like common kestrels, Chinese hwamei, and hill mynas, alongside valuable species such as crested mynas and oriental magpie-robins.
Data reveals that in 2025, Zhongshan received 974 wild animals and specimens. Six batches totaling 191 animals, including pythons, king cobras, greater coucals and owls, were released throughout the year, enabling numerous rare species to return to their natural habitats.
