June 14 marked the 20th Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, and the Liangdu Braised Pork Cooking Competition was held at Shachong School in Zhongshan's South District.
Over 30 Cantonese cuisine chefs from 15 catering enterprises took part in the competition for a thrilling culinary showdown. They were tasked with preparing two dishes: the signature "Liangdu Braised Pork" and a creative lychee-inspired dish.
Rooted in the late Southern Song Dynasty, "Liangdu Braised Pork" has evolved through centuries of heritage and reinvention, becoming a cultural icon that embodies the history and stories of South District.
