The 6th Qiwan Golden Dragon Cultural Festival commenced at Zhongshan's COCO City shopping mall in East District on May 31, bringing a three-day immersive feast of intangible cultural heritage to residents and tourists.

At the launch ceremony, Xiangshan Primary School of Zhongshan presented an original dance Golden Dragon, earning waves of applause from the audience.

The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the 63-meter-long Qiwan Golden Dragon, a provincial-level representative intangible cultural heritage.

Accompanied by pounding drumbeats, 100 dragon dancers maneuvered the colossal dragon embodied with a century-old craftsmanship, as it led a procession of Cantonese Opera, Huangpu Qilin Dance, Shengshi Phoenix Dance, West District Drunken Dragon Dance and other traditional performances winding through the square. The spectacle drew throngs of onlookers.
