Hanna Peng, vice president of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Society of Canada, donated seven family-treasured items documenting overseas Chinese history to the Zhongshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ZSFROC) on September 14.

Peng's great-grandfather Peng Wei-xiang was a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, who joined Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary movement from 1895 to 1906. In 1907, he moved to Mexico with his eldest son and ran a business there until 1926. Later, he worked in Hong Kong and spent his final years in Zhongshan.

The donated items include a commemorative stamp marking the 90th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth, a map titled "Recent Map of the Eastern and Western Hemispheres" published by Kwok Wa Po in 1941, a world map printed in Japan with Chinese translation, and etc. These items bear witness to an era when early Chinese emigrants struggled abroad while remaining devoted to their homeland.
