The phase 2 project of the Nansan (Nantou-Sanjiao) Highway Sanjiao-Huangpu section opened to traffic on September 1.

The highway connects the two industrial towns of Sanjiao and Huangpu. With residential communities and industrial parks dotted along the route, there is strong demand for both passenger and freight transport.

Following the renovation and expansion, the upgraded road has been built to class-1 highway standards and functions as an urban expressway, with 6 main lanes in two directions and two non-motor vehicle lanes. The upgrade has effectively eased the bottleneck for river crossings.
