The Zhongshan Bureau of Statistics released the city's economic performance data for the first half of 2026 on July 24.
During the period, the city's GDP reached 209.701 billion yuan, up 6.0% year on year at constant prices. Value added of the primary industry stood at 3.560 billion yuan, up 4.9%; secondary industry at 110.068 billion yuan, up 7.4%; and tertiary industry at 96.072 billion yuan, up 4.6%.
Industrial enterprises above designated size saw value added increase by 8.4%. Of this, advanced manufacturing grew 8.0%, and high‑tech manufacturing grew 19.9%.
Value added in the services sector rose 4.6%. Of this, information transmission, software and IT services grew 8.5%, while accommodation and catering rose 5.7%.
The gross output of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries reached 7.185 billion yuan, up 4.9%.
Industrial investment accounted for 48.6% of total fixed‑asset investment. Among the categories, investment in technological upgrading grew 10.6%, advanced manufacturing investment grew 5.6%, and high‑tech manufacturing investment grew 20.7%.
Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 85.523 billion yuan, up 4.8%. The CPI (consumer price index) edged down 0.4% year on year.
Per capita disposable income of Zhongshan residents was 35,001 yuan, up 4.3%.
