Just after 7 am on a workday, Zhengdong heads out from his residence after breakfast, walking about 15 minutes to work. He is responsible for the final stage of the production line, which is to track finished products and send defective ones back for rework.

Six years of the same routine — yet most of his colleagues have no idea he holds a Grade III disability certificate. Homa Appliances that Zhengdong works for is the largest employer in Zhongshan's Nantou Town, with over 13,000 employees.
The company is better known as China's top refrigerator exporter and a star enterprise in Zhongshan with 10 billion yuan in output. At Homa, 198 employees with disabilities, like Zhengdong, blend into the workforce, earning equal pay for equal work.

May 17 marked the 36th National Disability Day, themed "Guaranteeing equal rights for disabled persons and promoting their integration and development." Through their efforts, Homa and Zhengdong and his colleagues are creating a workplace where "equal inclusion" becomes a reality, making employees with special needs feel "not so special."
