Large machinery and equipment were operating orderly on March 16 at the construction site of Zhongshan West Station on the Shenjiang (Shenzhen-Jiangmen) Railway.

As the only new station in Zhongshan along the railway, Zhongshan West Station has seen 90% of its main structure completed. Upon completion, it will fill the gap of no high-speed rail station in western Zhongshan.

Located in Hengxi Village, Henglan Town, the station has a total building area of 9,991 square meters, which is equivalent to 1.4 standard football fields, and is able to serve 700 passengers simultaneously.

Themed on "Flourishing Flowers & Bright Henglan," the station is designed basing on the characteristic gardening and lighting industries to reflect Henglan's regional identity and cultural heritage.

Once the Shenjiang Railway is put into use, travel times from Zhongshan West Station to Jiangmen, Shenzhen Airport and Guangzhou's Nansha will be cut to 30, 25 and 15 minutes, respectively. The line also enables direct access from different parts of Zhongshan to Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Xiamen, and etc.
