During the just-ended Spring Festival holiday, a vintage green train quietly parked beside rice paddies in Yakou Village in Zhongshan, drawing crowds of curious visitors.

"The locomotive was sourced from Harbin, while carriages were meticulously selected and renovated in Liupanshui. It is Guangdong's first green train-themed homestay project." Yakou's village chief said.

The 12 guest rooms, each spanning 40 square meters, retain original sleeper berths and train seat layouts. A heated outdoor plunge pool serves as a standout feature.

The homestay manager disclosed plans for a March/April official opening, with friends and family now enjoying complimentary stays as part of a soft opening phase.

To enhance mid-to-high-end homestay experiences, culinary experts have joined to upgrade dining offerings. The property will soon list on booking platforms, offering travelers easy access to this unique rural retreat.
