Crowds thronged the banks of Xinchong River in Guangming Village, Sanjiao Town on January 2, as the Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan Sanjiao) Root Boat Race took place.

A total of 108 teams from across the GBA compete to start the new year with the vigor of rowing and paddling.

Sanjiao 3-player Root Boat Race, a century-old municipal-level intangible cultural heritage in Zhongshan, has become an important cultural link connecting the communities across the Greater Bay Area.
