The Shiqi-Qijiang New Town section of the Nansha-Zhongshan Intercity Railway achieved double-line breakthrough on December 28. To date, seven tunnel sections along the Zhongshan segment of the line have been completed.

Situated in Zhongshan's core downtown area, the Shiqi-Qijiang New Town section requires two more weeks for shield tunneling machine removal. Construction of the main structure of Shiqi Station is expected to commence by mid-January.
