At Guangdong Weili Electrical Appliances Co Ltd, production lines for microwaves, washing machines and ice makers are operating at full throttle. Workers skillfully assemble, test and package a steady stream of freshly manufactured products bound for African markets.
A veteran Chinese home appliance manufacturer with over 40 years of expertise, Weili has evolved into a large integrated R&D and production enterprise. Its diverse product range spans microwaves, ovens, ice makers and ice cream machines.
"We are actively expanding through trade shows and client visits to uncover new opportunities," said the company's customs manager. African sales surged 60% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, with this growth trajectory expected to persist through year-end.
Customs data reveals Zhongshan exported 2.4 billion yuan ($330 million) worth of home appliances to Africa in the first seven months this year, up 53.3% year-on-year.
