A media press tour on water governance through the River (Lake) Chief System was held in Zhongshan City on June 10.

Journalists from national and provincial media outlets, such as CNR.cn, Economic Daily, Nanfang Daily and Guangdong Radio and Television Station, visited Zhongshan's Shiqi, Nanlang and Tanzhou to comprehensively examine Zhongshan's implementation measures, interim achievements and future plans for water environment management.

According to reports, Zhongshan launched its water pollution control campaign in 2021. Through sustained efforts, significant improvements have been achieved in the water quality of 106 main river channels across the city, with the proportion of water bodies classified as Grade V or Below seeing a substantial decline.
