The market development promotion event and sponsor signing ceremony for the 14th Guangdong Middle School Games took place in Zhongshan on May 27, signaling that preparations for this provincial youth sports spectacle have entered the final sprint.

The Games will be held in Zhongshan from July 15 to 31, bringing together 5,424 athletes, 1,351 coaches and 1,000 referees from 21 prefecture-level cities across the province.

The Games features 12 major sports categories, including athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, Wushu routines, aerobics, cheerleading, rope skipping and orienteering, subdivided into 262 events. Venues span Xingzhong Stadium and 10 schools including Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan, and Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Secondary School.
