A total of 296 enterprises make the 2026 list of certified advanced smart factories of Guangdong province, 40 of which are in Zhongshan. Combined with the 10 certified in 2025, Zhongshan's total now stands at 50.

The 40 newly certified enterprises span such key sectors as smart home appliances, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, household chemicals, food and beverages, and new materials.

Zhongshan's 50 certified factories are mainly located in Torch High‑tech Zone, Cuiheng New District, Dongfeng Town and Nantou Town.

Since 2022, Zhongshan has earmarked 5 billion yuan in government funds to drive the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing sector, generating over 54 billion yuan in digital technology upgrade investment.
