The dragon boat competition of the 17th Guangdong Provincial Games mass-participation events got underway on the Jinjiang River in Maoming on July 12.

The three-day competition includes 100m, 200m and 500m sprints, attracting teams representing 21 prefecture-level cities across the province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, Jiangmen and Qingyuan.

In the men's 200m final, Shiqi Dragon Boat Team that represented Zhongshan delivered a strong performance, clinching the title in 43.977 seconds and securing a provincial games gold medal for the city.
