The semifinalists for the 2026 Guangdong International Overseas Chinese Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Artificial Intelligence+) have been revealed, with 60 projects shortlisted.
These projects come from 19 countries and regions, with more than 60% originating from outside Guangdong.
Among the enterprises behind the projects, 18 are enterprises above designated size, unicorns, gazelles, SRDI firms, or national high-tech enterprises.
The competing teams feature 9 academicians and 224 top overseas Chinese talents, and core R&D teams of over 90% of the teams hold doctoral degrees.
The selected projects hold nearly 200 domestic and overseas intellectual property rights, covering such cutting-edge fields as industrial manufacturing, healthcare, smart city building, and aerospace.
The semifinals will take place in Zhongshan on July 16 and 17.
