"Since the start of this year, our shipments to Disney have topped 30 million yuan," said Chen Ru-cheng, deputy general manager of Tai-Mate Technology (Zhongshan) Co Ltd, in the sample showroom.

Born in 1991, second-gen Taiwan businessman Chen came to Zhongshan in 2016 to take over the family firm founded by his father.

"Disney only provides design elements such as patterns; we have to complete the overall three-dimensional modeling," Chen said. 

Safety and environmental compliance are equally non-negotiable. Chen not only works closely with overseas design teams but also visits factories to help manufacturers upgrade their processes to meet Disney's quality standards.

In response to the current green trend, Tai-Mate has also developed new eco-friendly materials for European and American markets.

Chen recalled that as a child, he found Zhongshan had only a few shopping malls. Today, the city's livable environment and well-developed industrial chain have made him increasingly reluctant to leave. 

"Over the next 10 years, I will continue to put down roots here and steadily make Chinese ceramics win hearts around the world," Chen added.
