The first 18-MW offshore wind turbine at the 1-GW Fanshi II project off Yangjiang, Guangdong was successfully installed on June 2. Developed Zhongshan-based company Mingyang Smart Energy, this is China's first large-scale project deploying 18-MW-class offshore turbines.

At full load, the turbine generates about 43 kWh of electricity per rotor revolution — enough to power an average household for 9 straight days. Each unit produces up to 56 million kWh annually, saving roughly 16,000 tonnes of standard coal and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by about 43,000 tonnes per year.
As a world-leading wind power equipment manufacturer and clean energy solution provider, Mingyang Smart Energy serves over 60 countries and regions, with more than 2,200 clean energy projects in operation worldwide.
