The Nansha-Zhongshan Intercity Railway project has recently achieved a key milestone with the successful launch of tunneling on the left line of the shield section between Hengmen Well and Dongmen Portal.

The left line of the shield section spans 1,951.2 meters. After departing from Hengmen Well, the shield machine will traverse the Dajianfeng mountainous terrain before reaching the receiving end at Dongmen Portal.

Zhongshan is currently advancing the intercity railway project, with 13 construction sites already under way along the Zhongshan section. Upon completion, the project will enable Zhongshan to better integrate into the transportation network of the Greater Bay Area.
