In the distance, high-speed trains roar past. Nearby, Gesang flowers blanket 43.33 hectares of paddies in vibrant blooms. Visitors cycle along country lanes, stroll flower-lined ridges, and pause to capture the moment — all while soaking in Yakou Village's winter charm.

The blooms, expected to last through Spring Festival, are drawing crowds from the Greater Bay Area.
"With better transport, it is easier to come and go. The seasonal scenery and local food make me want to rave about Yakou to friends," said Hong Kong visitor Mrs Tse, for whom the village is a long-time favorite getaway.
"Flowering peaks until Spring Festival. Fewer tourists now mean better experiences." A staff member of Yakou Village noted. To ease parking, a new temporary lot accommodates over 2,000 vehicles.
Beyond the floral display, Yakou has diversified attractions: "village cafes" such as Cloud Coffee and Power Plant Bakery, plus 13 homestays, cater to varied traveler needs.
