Two entries from Dongfeng town, the Cooking Technique for Yinggezui Wild River Prawns and Iron Wire Fist, have been added to Zhongshan's municipal representative intangible cultural heritage items list.
The Yinggezui spit sits at the confluence of the Jiya, Xiaolan and Maning waterways in Dongfeng town, where the unusual hydrology produces rock-crevice river prawns with firm, sweet and springy flesh. Local people have preserved traditional cooking methods, such as poaching in clear water and steaming in bamboo baskets, to keep the prawns' natural freshness as intact as possible.

Iron Wire Fist is a classic southern Chinese martial art whose lineage dates back to the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. Dongfeng is home to training venues such as the Chiu Chi Ling Kung Fu Film Exhibition Hall and the He Weitian Martial Arts Academy. Chiu Chi Ling, a third-generation direct descendant in Wong Fei Hung's lineage, has put down roots in Dongfeng to teach and now has more than 200,000 disciples worldwide.
