On December 9, sunlight bathed the fields in Banfu Town's Lixi Village, where three busy harvesters traversed over 13.33 hectares of golden rice paddies. This marked the village's first harvest after rehabilitating former flower fields into farmland.

Zhou Minchao, manager of rice cultivation, says yields are expected to reach 350 kg per mu (667 square meters). Even more encouraging, rice prices surged this year, with the wet grain purchase price hitting 2.5 yuan per kg, up 27% year-on-year.
Zhou is now eyeing Lixi's tourism potential. He plans to integrate the rice fields into agritourism projects, offering study tours and farming experience activities to generate new revenue streams for the agricultural sector.
