The 2025 WTU "Dachong Cup" National Green Denim Creative Design Competition started at the Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City in Zhongshan's Dachong on July 28.
Open to universities, enterprises and design teams nationwide, the competition prioritizes entries leveraging sustainable technologies such as laser engraving, ozone fading and digital printing to advance eco-friendly production.
Serving as a collaborative platform for industry-academia-research integration, the event aims to concentrate top design talent while driving material, process and design innovations. This supports the denim sector's upgrade toward green, smart and premium development.
The contest operates dual tracks for academic and corporate participants, running through November 30.
As China's denim capital, Dachong hosts nearly 1,600 textile and garment enterprises and over 3,000 industrial washing units, producing 300 million pieces of jeans wear annually.
