After more than a year of renovation and preparation, the Xiangjiao Village Overseas Chinese History and Culture Museum in Zhongshan's Shaxi Town was unveiled on September 15.

Located at No.6 Xiajie Street, the museum was upgraded from the Pingding House, a century-old overseas Chinese residence donated free of charge by the descendants of Ruan Tianding, a notable native of the village.
With time as its core narrative thread, the museum traces the 650-year history of Xiangjiao and its fellow villagers, and showcases the village'sintangible cultural heritage and folk customs, public-benefit projects, philanthropic deeds of local notables, and signature industries.
