According to the statistical bulletin the Zhongshan Bureau of Statistics and the National Bureau of Statistics Zhongshan survey team jointly released on May 27, Zhongshan's permanent resident population stood at 4.5723 million by the end of 2025, up 77,700 from a year earlier.

The urban permanent population reached 4.0212 million, accounting for 87.95% of the total, 0.17 percentage points higher than a year earlier.

Zhongshan's annual birth rate hit 7.35‰, death rate 3.93‰, and natural growth rate 3.42‰.
