Bo'ai Road will be extended to Ma'an Island, according to an approval recently released by the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau.
The approval covers the reconstruction project for the east extension section of Bo'ai Road, an east-west arterial running through downtown Zhongshan, from Mingyang's Nanlang plant area to Xianghai Road.
Under the plan, the project is expected to break ground in December 2026 and reach completion in December 2027, with a total investment of 93.36 million yuan.
The 1.188-kilometer project will run from the intersection with a planned road directly beneath the section K5+573 of Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway on the south side of Xiangpeng Montain to Xianghai Road. It will be built to a two-way, four-lane first-class highway standard.
