The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Zhongshan Technology and Innovation Research Institute established operations at Zhongshan Life Science Park on September 26, inaugurating its full-scale operational phase.

It is situated in Building 4 of Zhongshan Life Science Park, spanning 10 floors with a total research area of approximately 16,800 square meters. Drawing on PolyU's research excellence in biomedical science, health technology, and engineering innovation, the Zhongshan institute will prioritize frontier R&D breakthroughs and industry-academia collaborations in such key areas as the development and certification of novel diagnostic reagents, advanced technologies for early screening and treatment of tumors, biomedical engineering, animal influenza vaccine development, and etc.

The Zhongshan institute is committed to establishing an integrated innovation pipeline spanning basic research, technology development, commercialization and industry incubation. This ecosystem will accelerate high-impact scientific breakthroughs' localized transformation in Cuiheng New District, while nurturing globally competent research talent and innovation teams to drive sustainable growth across Zhongshan and the Greater Bay Area.
