June 25 marked a significant milestone in Qijiang New Town's transportation construction as Xinggang South Road (Kanghua West) opened to traffic.
The Xinggang South Road (Kanghua West) project is designed for a speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour and stretches approximately 1.84 kilometers in a north-south direction.
The road begins south of the Kanghua Bridge approach, crosses over the Shiji River, intersects at grade with Minke West Road, spans the Hengchong Waterway, passes beneath the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway and North Ring Road, and ends approximately 200 meters north of the North Ring Road.
Qiaocheng Road, a critical link between the Qigang area and Zhongshan OCT Harbour, also commenced operations on the same day.
Starting from Qifeng Road in the west, Qiaocheng Road crosses the Yalisha River, Xingchen Road, Gangkou River and Hedi Road, and connects to Xinggang South Road in the east.
Spanning 1.06 kilometers with a two-way four-lane layout and a design speed of 40 kilometers per hour, the road includes a newly built 300-meter bridge spanning the Gangkou River.
