A special fashion show took place on March 15 at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou. Models walked in Zhongshan suit, or Chinese tunic suit, that blend traditional charm with modern aesthetics on the runway, and the audience witnessed the winning entries of the Zhongshan suit design competition come to life from sketches off the runway.

This event marked a highlight of the 5th Kapok Cultural Festival. Key to its success was the deep collaboration between Zhongshan enterprises and young designers, with several award winners hailing from Zhongshan.

The Zhongshan suit design competition was launched last year by the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou. After months of submissions and three rounds of review, 30 design entries across 7 series emerged.
