With rising summer temperatures and increased rainfall, Aedes albopictus (commonly known as Asian tiger mosquitoes) are breeding at a faster rate. These mosquitoes are the primary carriers of diseases like dengue and chikungunya, and their heightened activity has triggered a surge in infections. To combat the spread of these mosquito-borne illnesses, districts across Zhongshan have launched intensive mosquito-control operations, targeting blocking the breeding environment of mosquitoes and insects.
