Zhongshan ranks 13th nationwide in air quality in H1

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently published air quality rankings for the first half of 2025. Zhongshan secured 13th place for overall air quality and 8th position for lowest PM2.5 concentrations among 168 key cities nationwide.


National data showed that on average, 83.8% of days in 339 prefecture-level cities met air quality standards, marking a year-on-year increase of 1 percentage point, while severe pollution days remained steady at 1.5%.


The top 20 cities with clean air included Lhasa, Haikou, Zhangjiakou, Huizhou, Huangshan, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Zhoushan, Lishui, Zhongshan, Kunming, Dongguan, Ya'an, Taizhou, Yichun, Chengde, and Zhaoqing.
