Chen Jinkun, a modern farmer in Chongkou Village, Nanlang, completed the harvest of 168 mu (11.2 ha) of early rice he has contracted in Longxue Village with the aid of three combine harvesters on the morning of August 9.

This marked the full harvest of his 460-mu (30.7 ha) early rice plantation this year, yielding a total of 230 metric tons.

Preliminary data shows the Zhongshan's early rice cultivation spanned 37,100 mu (2,473 ha) this year, producing 14,600 metric tons with an average yield of 392.47 kg/mu (5.88 t/ha).
