Zhongshan's Cuiheng New District hosted a low-altitude economy project cooperation event on June 30, during which Cuiheng Group forged partnerships with EHang, a Ieading urban air mobiIity technoIogy pIatform company, Heli-Eastern, a major low-altitude general aviation carrier and helicopter service provider, and the Zhongshan Branch of China Mobile GBA Innovation Institute, respectively.
EHang, a global leader in manned VTOL technology, will collaborate with Cuiheng Group to advance eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) flight operations and commercialization in Zhongshan, with a focus on developing low-altitude culture and tourism, emergency response, and other application scenarios.
Heli-Eastern, committed to building a low-altitude operational network across the Greater Bay Area, will leverage its "air taxi" expertise to jointly develop an intercity low-altitude business route between Shenzhen and Zhongshan and low-altitude sightseeing routes over Lingding Ocean and Wetland Park, as well as to facilitate the expansion of cross-border flight routes from Zhongshan Passenger Port.
With expertise in 5G-Advanced integrated sensing and communication networks and edge computing, China Mobile GBA Innovation Institutewill deploy intelligent customs and border inspection systems and low-altitude counter-drone infrastructure at Zhongshan Passenger Port.
The helicopter route connecting Shenzhen's Dazhonghua Airport and Zhongshan Passenger Port Airport completed its maiden flight on the same day, with the entire journey taking only 18 minutes. This milestone marks the official entry of Shenzhen and Zhongshan into the "10-minute low-altitude commuting circle."
