Zhongshan has recently issued its first guaranteed startup loan to a Hong Kong resident, marking a significant milestone in expanding Greater Bay Area's inclusive financial policies to Hong Kong and Macao people.
Ms Chuk, a Hong Kong entrepreneur running a teahouse in Zhongshan, secured the funding to support her business expansion plans.
The loan was co-initiated by the People's Bank of China Zhongshan Branch and Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and granted by the Zhongshan Branch of Postal Savings Bank of China.
As a key employment initiative of Zhongshan, the guaranteed startup loan program offers eligible individuals up to 500,000 yuan and SMEs up to 5 million yuan in government-subsidized loans bearing 50% interest subsidies.
This year alone, four participating banks have approved 276 million yuan in such financing, supporting 59 local ventures.
