On June 6 and 7, the second "Zhongtian Cup" Guangdong–Jiangxi Dragon Boat Invitational took place at Jinyuli River in Xiaolan Town, drawing over 40 teams from Guangdong and Jiangxi to compete.

All boats were national-standard 12-person dragon boats. The event featured the Jiangxi Division and the Open Division. Twenty teams in the Jiangxi Division raced an 800-meter straight-line time trial on June 6.

The following day, 23 teams in the Open Division contested a 500-meter straight-line time trial. The field included not only strong local teams from Xiaolan but also competitors from nearby cities including Guangzhou, Foshan and Jiangmen as well as from outside the province.
