The second Zhan's Garden Flower Birthday Festival opened by the Beitai River in Zhongshan's South District on March 8.

The 43-day spring celebration running through April 19 features such immersive China-chic activities as hair flower ceremonies, a spring blessing rite and waterborne parades, all allowing tourists to experience the Flower Birthday Festival culture within a classical garden.
Originating from the Song Dynasty, the Flower Birthday Festival celebrates the birthday of flowers. This year's edition will create a sustained sense of springtime ritual through four highlight activities.

The spring blessing rite, scheduled for March 21, will deliver the messages of spring to Beitai, Caobian and other villages nearby.
