A queue stretched outside the China Post service hall in Zhongshan's East District on the morning of January 5, as dozens of stamp collectors gathered for the first-day release of the Year of the Horse (Bingwu) zodiac stamp series.

This year, 7,779 sets of the stamp will be issued citywide, each containing two 1.2-yuan stamps.
The first stamp, Leaping Toward Grand Aspirations, captures a crimson horse soaring through auspicious clouds, its fiery mane symbolizing relentless progress. The second, Ten Thousand Horses Bring Blessings, portrays three horses forming a dynamic "thousand-horse gallop" scene, integrating traditional cloud and flame motifs to fuse eastern aesthetics with contemporary spirit, conveying themes of ambition, unity and harmony.
The launch event also showcased award-winning entries from the Zhongshan division of the 2026 Youth Creative Design Competition for Personalized Zodiac Stamps.
