Images: Resetting biological clock of edible chrysanthemums
2026-09-18

The edible chrysanthemum, a specialty agricultural product of Zhongshan, is prized for its flavor and has won wide market recognition. But bound by natural growth cycles, it can be harvested only in autumn and winter each year. How can consumers enjoy delicious edible chrysanthemums all year round? In Zhongshan, agricultural technicians are trying to help the plants reset their biological clock, adjusting light duration as they explore ways to free their flowering period from seasonal constraints.
