An international training course on early warning capacity building for disasters associated with theAsian-Australian-African Monsoon held a two-day field study in Zhongshan from October 21 to 22.

Thirty-eight meteorological managers and key operational staff from 23 countries, including the Solomon Islands, Benin and Cote d'Ivoire, observed Zhongshan's meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation system up close, drawing on its urban governance experience in meteorology.
Zhongshan has developed a workflow that runs from risk assessment through coordinated, multi-department response, allowing early warning information to be turned quickly into concrete steps to prevent disasters and avoid danger. That closed-loop mechanism left a deep impression on the trainees from different countries.
